Victorian ‘Tortoiseshell’ Bamboo Open Bookcase & Side Table SOLD
Absolutely beautiful original Victorian scorched ‘tortoiseshell’ bamboo bookcase/shelving unit and matching side table.
The wooden plywood backing with a hessian wicker weave interior and tiger bamboo are in original condition, with small signs of age and wear. Three nicely spaced shelves, with textured paper lining, a very sturdy despite its delicate looks.
In fantastic vintage condition, the frame is all original and completely solid. A beautiful piece that due to its size will make an incredibly useful piece of storage furniture.
Paired with an impressive English late 19th Century table.
The lacquered top raised on bamboo legs and stretchers united by a waisted undertier shelf with embossed wicker weave.

In good vintage condition. small signs of wear in the wicker weave on the bookcase as to be expected for a piece of this age. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
