A stunning 1960s sideboard designed by renowned Danish designer I.B. Kofod Larsen for G-Plan’s highly sought-after Danish Line collection, dating to circa 1965.
At an impressive 235cm wide, this is a beautifully proportioned and exceptionally well-made piece, combining generous storage with the clean, understated lines that made Larsen’s designs so influential.
The sideboard features five drawers, including the original grey felt-lined cutlery drawer, alongside a spacious double-door cupboard. The cupboard shelves are fully adjustable, while the drawers are constructed with the quality dovetailed joints synonymous with G-Plan furniture. The interior also features Larsen’s distinctive detailing to the shelving.
The warm teak-toned timber has developed a beautiful colour and patina over the years, complemented by the original darker rosewood handles and elegant, tapered legs. The result is a timeless piece that works equally well in a mid-century, Scandinavian or contemporary interior.
A superb example of I.B. Kofod Larsen’s work for G-Plan, and an increasingly difficult-to-find piece from the Danish Line collection.
This sideboard remains in good vintage condition and has clearly been well cared for. The drawers and cupboard doors open and close smoothly, the shelving is fully functional and the frame remains sturdy and sound. There is some expected minor wear consistent with age, adding to its authentic vintage character. Please see photographs for overall condition.
