A beautifully designed sideboard by celebrated British furniture designer Robert Heritage, who is the most awarded designer in the history of the British Design Council. This seemingly rare early model is constructed from a combination of teak and afromosia, with one bank of three thick dovetailed oak lined drawers, alongside two double door cupboards.
The quality is outstanding, this extremely sturdy and well built. The afromosia grain patterns are stunning throughout, every detail on this is finely made. The drawers are solid oak lined, with precise and fine hand cut dovetailed joints. This has internal cutlery dividers in the top drawer, the bottom drawer is double depth and there is lots of storage space in the two cabinet sections.
Exceptional quality with grained timbers this stunning piece of mid century design can be admired from all angles and sides as decorated on the back. The double door cupboard has an internal shelf and no obvious hinges and a discrete push door opening. The top lefthand drawer is lined with original black vinyl.
Dating from 1960s this is a rare piece of mid century design. These design classics are getting harder to source and are becoming highly collectable.
In vintage unrestored condition. The top of the sideboard could do with further resotration but we have left this for now for the next owner. A few nicks to the edge of the top board. Some other minimal signs of previous use as to be expected some pieces of this age but nothing other of any significant to note. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
