A beautiful and extremely rare mid century sideboard, made by Uniflex, circa 1960’s. Uniflex furniture was made in relatively low numbers, but this is a model that we’ve never come across before. It’s very well made with lots of storage space wither side of a hinged drop down drinks double height cabinet in the middle. The interiors of the cupboards are lined with pale maple with rosewood circular pull handles. 

Three drawers above the cabinets, one with an original black vinyl lining and internal deciders for cutlery.

We have had this gently cleaned and re-polished, the condition is good throughout. The back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item. There are a few minor signs for its previous life but these are minor and nothing significant to note. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.

Uniflex was made by the company L Lazarus and employed designers such as Peter Hayward and Gunther Hoffstead in the 1950s and 1960s. They were at the forefront of the mid century modern style with machined finish and mass marketing which helped bring it to a wider audience after the Festival of Britain.
