3 x Vintage 1979 DSS Herman Miller chairs in original red upholstery.
Fiberglass, chrome and polyester side chairs, first designed in 1954.
Charles & Ray Eames first created this design in response to demands for a lightweight stacking chair that could be set up quickly for large groups and at the same time. Sadly we only have three if these chairs.
Demonstrating the Eames’ careful attention to detail, the base of the chairs are equipped with ball-joint nylon glides to compensate for uneven floor surfaces. Two of the chairs are marked with the original Herman Miller stamp and one with the original sticker.
Each chair has signs of use and very minor corrosion to the chrome. Otherwise great looking chairs with a vibrant red colour. Original upholstery is in great condition for its age! Minimal sun fading, but one chair has a cigarette burn (see pics). All the stacking welds are in tack and broken feet have been replaced with Herman Miller feet.
