Vintage Mid Century Sideboard / Dressing Chest by Uniflex SOLD
This stunning vintage Uniflex sideboard / dressing chest designed by Gunther Hoffstead circa 1960’s
The sideboard has a beautiful teak grain running throughout. It has two doors that you push in and they spring open and a bank of three drawers to the centre.
Uniflex was made by the company L Lazarus and employed designers such as Peter Hayward and Gunther Hoffstead in the 1950s and 1960s. They were at the forefront of the mid century modern style with machined finish and mass marketing and helped bring it to a wider audience after the Festival of Britain.
Uniflex from the mid sixties had a distinctive style. The absence of handles they used a cut out of the drawer and they used expensive woods, such as teak or rosewood, and the unique sled leg with a single horizontal bar connecting the front and back legs.
In good vintage condition. No offensive marks, sun stains or damage to the piece. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
