A really rare and stylish sideboard from Heals, by leading designer A. J. Milne, circa 1956. It has been with the same owner since new. With original ebonised and steamed beech veneers and it is in excellent vintage condition.
The sideboard has a distinctive satin black metal under frame which accents struts and fixings to present an industrial/modernist style – very unusual for the period and looks contemporary even today. With the original cutlery tray and removable bottle holder.
The sideboard is very cool and distinctive, and features neat peg handles and ebonised woodgrain front. We also have the original Hire Purchase agreement from Heals and their 1956 catalogue photos and prices!
In excellent vintage condition, with only minor marks consistent with general age and use. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
