This elegant mid century sideboard was crafted by Greaves & Thomas, renowned for creating high-end designer furniture for the British market. The sideboard features three drawers, with the top drawer including a felt-lined cutlery divider. To the right, a double cupboard serves as a drinks cabinet, with a drop-front door and a black formica-lined surface for servicing bottles and glasses. On the left, there’s a single cupboard space, offering ample storage.

This sideboard is an excellent example of early British mid century inspired design.

In great vintage unrestored condition. Some marks consistent with general age and use as to be expected with a piece of this age. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.

Greaves & Thomas, a London-based company dating back to the early 1900s, initially specialized in lounge furniture and upholstery. By the mid-20th century, they expanded to produce a range of high-end contemporary furniture, including sideboards, armchairs, and bedroom mirrors. In the 1950s and 60s, they employed trained designers like Walter Cornell, whose work featured clean lines and Danish influences. In 1967, Greaves & Thomas was acquired by Schreiber, enhancing their furniture offerings with quality and prestige.
