A superb set of eight Danish mid-century dining chairs, attributed to Kai Kristiansen, model 68 “Fire” chairs for Anderstrup Møbelfabrik, Denmark, circa 1960s.
Beautifully sculpted in richly toned solid teak, these iconic chairs showcase Kristiansen’s unmistakable organic design language, with elegantly curved crescent backs, refined joinery and wonderfully balanced proportions. Their compact footprint and flowing silhouette make them ideal for both contemporary and classic interiors.
This matching set of eight has been paired with smart black orignal seats, offering a clean, timeless contrast to the warmth of the teak and making them exceptionally versatile for modern dining spaces.
The chairs are comfortable, sturdy and visually striking from every angle — equally suited to a statement dining room, interior design project or premium hospitality setting. Faintly stamped Anderstrup Møbelfabrik on the underside of a few of the chairs.
A rare opportunity to acquire a substantial matching set of eight sought-after Danish dining chairs — increasingly difficult to find in this quantity and condition. One previous owner from new.
The chairs have not been restored but gently cleaned to refresh and enhance the grain. They are in very good vintage condition with attractive age-related patina to the teak frames. Structurally solid and ready for everyday use. Upholstery remains smart and usable. As with all vintage furniture, minor signs of age and wear consistent with decades of careful use should be expected. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
