A stunning 1950s Mid Century Teak and Rosewood Veneer Sideboard very much in the manner of Archie Shine, White & Newton and Richard Hornby but sadly no makers label or manufacturers markings.
Double centre opening cupboard with angled internal shelves to store bottles (?) and five graduating shelves to the side – first shelf with original wooden internal dividers for cutlery.
Distinctive part reeded effect detailing on the top of the cupboards and drawers. Simple rectangular handles and good overall proportions. A design classic possibly Robert Heritage, Arthur Edwards, Richard Hornby quite possibly a real bargain to whoever identifies it fully.
Measurements:
H72cm x W168cm x D44cm
This is a rare sideboard which I have given a light restoration and so have not removed all of its original patina and character. In some places with the various wood veneers they have been chipped which I will show in the photos nothing in obvious places for instance side bottom edges and damage on the reverse which you wouldn’t see. There are also sun shadows on the top. Please ask questions or ask for further photos. I see a lot of sideboards and this has a superb design quality to it. This sideboard is for someone looking for something special but understands its age and how it compares to more common place pieces like G Plan for which it is clearly superior.
Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
