A chromed steel frame, stretched canvas seat covered with a cushion also upholstered in canvas, swivel chrome foot.

Bruno Mathsson (1907 – 1988) is a Swedish designer, architect and cabinetmaker. He is one of the pioneers of the Swedish design and has a great reputation, especially for his organic style.
In 1931, the designer created for a hospital several armchairs with straps, nicknamed “Grasshopper” because of the aesthetics similarities with the insect. The piece was very modern, so at the beginning the armchair was unknown by general public. Then, thanks to its innovative design and its perfect ergonomic, the “Grasshopper” known a huge success worldwide.
