An elegant dark brown leather chaise longue inspired by Le Corbusier’s iconic LC4 design, probably sold by Habtiat in the late 1980s. This timeless piece features a tubular chrome frame resting on a lacquered black base, with a sleek leather upholstered lounger and a matching pillow. Known for its versatility, the recline angle can be easily adjusted to suit the user’s preference. Designed to follow the natural contours of the human body, this modernist chaise embodies a perfect blend of comfort and functionality, making it an ideal statement piece for both contemporary and classic interiors.
The LC4 chaise longue was originally designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand and is now part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York. This high quality Italian made replica, believed to be from the late 1980’s, offers a considerably more affordable opportunity to own an iconic piece of furniture.
In great condition both structurally and aesthetically. There is a small amount of abrasion to the underside of the leather cushion. This is a vintage, preloved item and may show some minimal signs of wear and tear commensurate with age and use. One tension spring missing but this doesn’t effect or use. Please review the photos – happy to answer any quesitons.
