This is a great looking tall chest of seven drawers or Tallboy with curved brass handles designed by E Gomme for G-Plan in the late 1950s to early 1960s, using Tola wood (African mahogany) for the cabinet with the draw fronts finished in a white lacquer style finish and the ebonised frame base/ legs with brass top caps and adjustable feet.
A stylish piece of British mid century furniture which has good practical storage and is as likely to look good in a bedroom as well as in a living room or office.
This offers lots of storage space, all the drawers run smoothly and have lovely brass handles. The brass feet caps are also adjustable to the height can be altered by a couple of centimetres.
In good, clean vintage condition. All the drawers are clean and running fine. The gold coloured brass handles are lightly age tarnished however all fine and in place. The ebonised base frame and legs are fine with no wobbles. The Tola wood is of an even colour and not sun faded. The white finished draw fronts have minimal wear to the fronts. The E-Gomme stamp to the inside of the top drawer. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
