Vintage 1960s Teak Sideboard by Dalescraft SOLD
A stunning mixed wood sideboard designed by Malcolm David Walker for Dalescraft in Pudsey.
The front and back are veneered with Burma teak. The rest of the piece is solid African teak. Decorated on the back so able to stand independently within any room
It was designed to hold dining plates, servers and cutlery in the large side cupboard with a fixed internal shelf. With a bank of four drawers to the side. The lower right hand draw is the cutlery tray, which is lined in green felt. The front section was designed with a counter balance to flap down and be sturdy enough to function as an additional serving table. Finished off with beautiful wooden pull handles.
Walker’s designs were highly influenced by contemporary Danish pieces of the time, likely to have been produced from 1962/3 to 1968.
It would make a great addition to any vintage/mid-century inspired interior.
In excellent unrestored condition, minor signs of wear and use consistent with age. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
