Pieff as we know today, was formed as “Production Facilities Limited” in 1953 by Frederick Bates and son David, and produced contract furniture for hospitals, coffee bars and canteens, and other commercial uses. After Tim Bates joined, younger brother of David, the business in 1966, the company began to produce high-end furniture we know today. Sold through Harrods, Heals and other prestigious shops, Pieff was synonymous with luxury. Globally recognised as one of the top brands, Pieff were particularly successful in the 1970s.
