1950s Mid Century Vintage Teak Sideboard SOLD
Vintage teak sideboard made by Times Furnishings, circa late 1950’s. With a drop down ‘drinks cupboard’ with an internal shelf, a double cupboard and a bank of three drawers. There is a Times Furnishings label on the inside door of the drop down cupboard.
Times Furnishings were a London based company who had several stores all over the capital and a few around the country. They were one of the first exponents of the “furnish now, pay later” phenomenon. Also stocking brands like G Plan and Mcintosh.
This piece is in good vintage condition, there are some signs of wear and tear as you might expect. Small missing chips on the veneer on the side bottom edge but barely noticeable. The original handles were already replaced when I obtained the piece but I didn’t feel these reflected the beauty of this sideboard so were replaced again with some that I feel are more aesthetically pleasing!
