1960s Mid Century Greaves & Thomas Mahogany Sideboard SOLD
A mid century Greaves & Thomas flame mahogany veneer credenza/sideboard with elegant tapered brass tipped feet and ‘campaign style’ pull handles to the drawers. Typical of their style with modern sleek design and displaying beautiful real wood grain veneer.
Features 2 sets of double doors opening to various shelving and compartments with 2 large wide drawers above with one having various separators and lining.
Superb quality and construction.
This sideboard is an excellent example of early British mid century inspired design.
In great vintage condition. Minor marks and scratches to the top consistent with general age and use as to be expected with a piece of this age. Please note the historic repair done to the internal cutlery tray – doesn’t effect use. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
Greaves & Thomas were a London based furniture maker based in Hackney, East London from 1911 till 1965. They were incorporated into Schreiber furniture in 1967. Their furniture from the 1960s mirrored the style modernist Danish designers, using clean geometries, tapered furniture legs and wonderful timber.
