Classic unrestored mid century 4 Windsor hoop back dining chairs and a Windsor drop-leaf dining kitchen table in original Old Colonial dark stain colour. The four chairs have the classic arched bow seatback with 6 spindles and turned legs in beech, the oyster shaped seat is in solid elm which matches the table top.
All the joints are firm, strong and without movement, the arched bow seat backs have no splits or cracks which can be a common manufacturing fault on this design. The chairs will have the odd minor usage mark but overall are in great condition, please see the photos for details.
Each chair has the original Ercol cushions and has the original cushion pad press studs which is also in great condition.
A beautiful Ercol oval drop-leaf dining table from the Windsor Collection, manufactured between 1957 – 1989. The table can seat six people when fully opened. It is especially useful for smaller rooms, as it seats two comfortably when folded. The drop leaves (flaps) have metal supports with wooden blocks at the end pull out from beneath the middle of the top to hold the leaves in an upright position when their use is required.
Full length ‘piano’ hinges are fitted to the underside of the leaves these are clean and free of rust, the subtly tapered solid beech angled tapering legs are classically elegant in form.
The table top displays a striking grain pattern. In fantastic unrestored vintage condition; however will show minimal signs of previous use. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
