A rare Heals Music Box (1958) designed by Christopher Heal. A music and drinks cabinet! Well that’s that then!
“Time was when the wheezy, reedy records of yesteryear were stored in brown paper covers and stacked neatly beneath the phonograph.
Today we are more ambitious. We buy 10′ and 12″ discs almost weekly. We collect long playing and “extended play”records. And now our omium gatherum embraces single and double track tapes.
The problem is where to keep them all.
Happily Christopher Heal supplied the answer when he designed a 3 ft. wide record cabinet which ingeniously holds up to 440 assorted records or records, tapes and drinks.
Both height of shelves and depth of recesses are adjustable; the left hand partitions slide out to make room for your own bar; there is a space for music magazines; and there’s drawer for your card index catalogue system.
We think it’s unbeatable value for only for only £30. Veneered in teak or mahogany and rosewood, it offers you a choice of sliding glass doors or drop front as shown. (Cabinet only: £25. With plinth, £26.) Matching cabinets for high fidelity equipment are also available. Write for leaflets.”
