1960s Mid-Century Modern period round extending dining table and 4 dining room chairs produced by Dutch company Mahjongg, Vlaardingen. The set is in very good newly reupholstered vintage condition.
The teak round extending dining table can easily seat 4 and six when extended. The extending butterfly leaf has aged beautifully with the rest of the table so no distinct colour change. The leaves can be secured to minimise movement when the table is closed. The legs are also detachable.
The chairs are by acclaimed Danish designer Johnnes Andersen. The frame of the chairs is made of solid teak wood. The backrests and seatings has been newly reupholstered in Abraham Moon Earth Mint 100% Wool Fabric.
In very good vintage condition. One previous owner since new. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
Mahjongg was a small local but high quality furniture manufacturer in Holland during the 1960s. They made high quality pieces of furniture and were all inspired by the successful Danish designs of the time. They also worked together with well known Danish designers, but mainly they left out the designer names out of their local marketing. These better designers loved to work with Mahjongg because of their small workshop and their aim on quality and detail.
