Stunning Antique Georgian Mahogany Large Chest of Drawers SOLD
Antique mahogany large chest of drawers. Georgian mahogany chest of 2 short over 3 long drawers on crafted raised legs.
Circa 1830, George IV mahogany chest of drawers. The rectangular top has a graduated smoothed stepped edge and reeded downward sides. The three bottom drawers are graduating and have original ebonised turned cast knob handles.
There is an unusual deep proportion between each of the drawers. Original green paper drawer linings in situ.
Diamond shaped bone escutcheons, sadly no longer a key but again could be replaced. Below the bottom drawer is a lovely apron and the whole piece stands on four elegant original raised feet.
Good condition, but could require further TLC to really bring it back to its full potential. Small pieces of the veneered edge missing but easily replaced should you so wish. Further minor marks and abrasions consistent with age and use. No signs of wood worm.
