This beautiful mid century U-460 sideboard by Czech furniture designer Jiri Jiroutek for Interier Praha in the 1960s, Czechoslovakia.
Classic mid century sideboard with two lockable veneered hinged doors and a bank of four drawers. The top drawer has a green lined cutlery divider section. Beautifully decorated at the back so perfect to stand alone as a room divider.
This is part of the popular U collection manufactured by Interier Praha in the 1960s Czechoslovakia. This piece perfectly embodies the so-called Brussels Style, named after Expo 1958 in Brussels where Czechoslovakia won 13 prizes including one in the furniture category.
These cabinets were revolutionary in the technical innovations that allowed their mass production and affordable prices in times when there was a great demand for furniture in Czechoslovakia.
In very good vintage condition, signs of wear and tear consistent with age and use. We do not have the original key to lock the sideboard. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
