Mid Century Beautility Sideboard on Bentwood Curved Legs Art Deco Style SOLD
A lovely Art Deco Style Walnut Veneer Sideboard made by British Maker Beautility.
Beautility Furniture Ltd was based in Edmonton, North London. Established in 1894, the company moved out from Bethnal Green to Edmonton in the 1930s, looking for cheaper premises. Due to access to the River Lee Navigation, timber could be transported by barge from London Docks and stored in riverside wharves. Consequently furniture makers including Nathan’s, Beautility and Homeworthy had factories here.
Beautiful curving front standing on Bentwood Curved legs.
It has 2 central draws and 2 cupboards, ‘hidden’ shelves above either side with an internal shelf. One of the ‘hidden’ shelves is fitted for cutlery and lined with a green baize.
Pretty contrasting original brass handles and post-war Beautility Label on the inside Cabinet.
In good solid condition with some light signs of use consistent with age related wear and tear – see photos.
