Extremely stylish blonde oak 4 drawer chest by John & Sylvia Reid for British Manufacturers STAG.

Sleek integrated drawer pulls that add to the elegance, neat and contemporary design of this 1950s piece. Finished in light oak veneer with solid oak tapered legs, it has a beautiful colour and wood grain. Four drawers with attractive recessed handles underneath each drawer.

A much sought after mid century chest of drawers.

In good sturdy vintage condition, with minor marks in relation to general wear and tear. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.

It was part of their Cumberland or ‘C’ Range that was designed by architect couple John & Sylvia Reid. The C Range was the couples first partnership with the company and the design was minimalist to the extreme. A stark contrast to the usual furniture of the era. A post-war design for young couples starting out who wanted to think of the future. Originally designed as part of a modular bedroom system intended for young forward thinking homes in the 1950s, the ‘C’ range was finished in either oak or Australian walnut (this piece being in oak).
