The Wassily Chair, also known as the Model B3 chair, was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925-1926 while he was the head of the cabinet-making workshop at the Bauhaus, Dessau, Germany. Gavina produced the Wassily chair under licence between 1962 and 1968, then Knoll purchased the Gavina company and took over production. The Wassily Chair, like many other designs of the modernist movement, has been mass-produced since the late 1920s, and continuously in production since the 1950s.
This fantastic chair was originally purchased in the UK from habitat in the 1980s and has been reimagined using 1950s Swiss Army Heavy Duty Tan Canvas material.
In very good condition. The chair material has been hand-sown and is weight baring and secure. The chrome is free from any significant rust or corrosion. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
