A stunning Norwegian vintage lounge chair by Sigurd Ressell manufactured by Vatne Mobler, circa 1967.
A very stylish shape and design which a unique bent plywood frame factory finished in white. With loose seat cushions in a chestnut brown leather they attached to the frame in a very unique fashion. Large chrome fixings and a Pirelli rubber seat support. The leather arms and top cushion are attached by 9 large press studs.
Incredibly comfortable. A real statement lounge chair.
In good vintage unrestored, but cleaned condition. There is one press stud fixing missing from the back cushion (doesn’t effect how the cushion looks are the use), a small paint crack on the back of the plywood frame towards one corner but again this isn’t necessarily noticeable and doesn’t affect the use of the chair. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.

Sigurd Resell was born in Norway in 1920. Resell, started his career when a drawing for a competition was praised by Niels Vodder, a master furniture maker who created many fine works together with Finn Juhl. Later, a prototype was made from the drawing. In 1958, his SR 600 won an award at Copenhagen Cabinetmaker’s Guild Exhibitions for craftsmen in Denmark. One of Resell’s representative works, the Falcon Chair, produced by Vatne, a Norwegian furniture manufacturer, has been a long-selling item in Europe for over 30 years.
