Three Bay Mid Century Staples Ladderax Shelving System

Stylish and functional, this is the classic Staples Ladderax mid century shelving system. The wooden uprights and easy removable metal supports, allow the teak cabinetry to be positioned wherever and however you require.

This system features three bays of Ladderax (4 Ladders), with five shelves, the three cabinets consists of a bureau / filing cabinet with a drop down door, one cabinet with glass shelf and sliding doors, a chest of three drawers and a magazine display shelf. Two of the three units are lockable and the key is present. Remember that the cabinets can be moved around and set at different heights to suit your needs and the bays can be configured in different arrangements too. There is also the option of splitting up the bays if you’d like to feature Ladderax in two different places.

A very versatile piece of classic retro furniture. Ladderax was designed by Robert Heal in 1964 and manufactured by Staples of Cricklewood in London for sale in high end stores like Harrods, Heals, etc. Heal was influenced by the Danish school of design. This mid century Scandinavian design movement was all about reinterpreting simple, linear shapes from earlier design periods and making them ‘simpler’.

One of the great benefits of Ladderax over its Scandinavian counterparts is that it doesn’t need to be attached to the wall. The whole set up breaks down easily when it needs to be moved and is so simple to rebuild. You can also source extra cabinets, rods, shelves and/or ladders to allow you add to and alter your configuration.
