A mid century large ‘S Range’ sideboard designed by John & Sylvia Reid for Stag Furniture.
The original iconic nickel-plated V-shaped legs and L-shaped handles. The handles were all custom made and are recessed neatly on the top of the drawer and door fronts. The piece has a true modernist aesthetic, way ahead of its time!
The Stag ‘S Range’ were produced between 1959 and 1963, after which time it was discontinued due to a lack of commercial success.
This is an later example as it doesn’t have the custom made hinges but the later barrel version. Also it has a felt lined cutlery drawer on the first drawer of the bank of four drawers, as well as drawers and a shelf inside the double door cabinet.
No major marks or damage, original black strip in tact, no ring marks. There may be some very minor marks as to be expected for its age. Please review the photos – happy to answer any questions.
