Vintage Stag ‘Cantata’ Teak Chest Of Five Drawers SOLD
A teak veneered chest of five drawers, originally would have been a dressing chest with a mirror on the top of the unit. Four equally spaced drawers with the exception of a deeper drawer on the bottom. With teak sculpted pull handles.
A very practical and attractive piece of furniture offering a huge amount of storage.
Stag furniture was a popular mass market British manufacturer in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
They employed John and Sylvia Reid as design consultants. This chest of drawers is from the Cantana range they designed and follows their well known understated minimalist style.
In very good vintage condition, commensurate with age with hardly any signs of wear. All the solid wood handles are in excellent condition with no splits or cracks. There is a stain on the top of the chest where the mirror would have been attached. The holes where the rods would have been are filled and smoothed over.
